CWA Human Rights would like to invite the members of your District/Sector to join our mobilization for the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. Depending on your city of origin, buses will begin rolling out on the evening of August 25 (closer destinations will leave the morning of the 26th), that will stop at the following cities.
Atlanta, GA
Birmingham, AL
Charlotte, NC
Cleveland, OH
Greensboro, NC
Norfolk, VA
Newport News, VA
New York City, NY
Philadelphia, PA
Pittsburgh, PA
Raleigh/Durham, NC
Trenton, NJ
All buses will arrive in Washington, DC, the morning of Saturday, August 26. We will provide breakfast at CWA Headquarters, then head to the rally at the National Mall. After rallying, we will go back to Headquarters for boxed lunches. After lunch, everyone will go back on their respective buses and make the trip home.
We will provide t-shirts and posters for march attendees.
As a part of this action we will also be filling out a minimum of 2,500 postcards in support of the PRO Act, John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and the Fight for $15. Postcards will be sent to locals in advance and will be submitted upon arrival at Headquarters. Lost time will be provided to those activists attending the march to do their postcard activity (preferably on August 25, the day before the rally) at their locals.
We look forward to commemorating this historic labor and civil rights event. Please let us know if you have any questions.
In Unity,
Angie Wells
